It’s a Slow Process

We are already into week 4 of this my last semester, and I’m feeling the pressure rise.

One class is great because it’s an art history course, and I love art history. No problems there as of yet. The other class is the capstone course and that’s the one that’s kicking my ass…already. The proposal for the project was due in week 2, which, surprisingly, I had ready to turn in. I didn’t do what I consider well on it, however.

If you don’t know anything about proposals, they’re basically the outline of any task you are seeking to perform, the methods you will use to do it, and why it’s important. It was difficult for me to think out the methods I need to take and what each little detail would be because that’s not the way my mind works. I am a procrastinator, not a planner. I work best under pressure. So my thoughts in the proposal weren’t narrowed well enough and it was kind of all over the place. Not so good. I didn’t fail, but I didn’t succeed either.

Now I am racking my brain with the task of narrowing the project and placing it within a certain methodology (like realism or feminism). Wrapping my brain around that part and then trying to create around it wasn’t working so well. I decided to begin creating and then worry about the academics. I haven’t gotten far, but I have at least done something.

That is where I am for now. Hopefully things will start to improve…especially since I just ordered 7 more books from amazon.com. Books are not cheap, folks.

Until next time….

Procrastinators unite...tomorrow.
